Hot Stone Massage Therapy

Hot Stone therapy was founded in Arizona 2000 years ago.  American Indians used the stones for healing. It is a complete mind, body and soul treatment. Physically the circulation is stimulated, mentally, the client reaches a deep state of relaxation within minutes and spiritually, the client is balanced and healing begins.

During treatment, work on the chakras takes place.  'Chakra' meaning 'wheel' is a Sanskrit word  derived from the ancient language of India (Hindi). The seven chakras are the energy centres in our body in which energy flows through. The energy in the chakras is constantly revolving. Working on the chakra energy will strengthen, decrease or balance, as needed.

What to expect from your treatment

After your initial consultation, you will be left in private to get undressed as far as you feel comfortable. During the massage towels are used to keep you warm and covered.  My treatment room has been created with relaxation in mind and I will encourage you to switch off whilst I ease away those stresses and strains.

Aftercare

  • Drink plenty of water which helps flush out toxins. Herbal teas or juices are fine.
  • Try to avoid caffeine and alcohol as this helps prevent dehydration and introduces more toxins.
  • Enjoy rest and relaxation. An early night is recommended!
